Carnival Cruise Lines - large Florida-based company founded in 1972, owns several brands, including P&O, Costa Cruises and Ocean Village.
Cunard - this famous name has been running cruises for over 160 years. Cunard’s current ships include the Queen Victoria and Queen Mary II.
Fred Olsen - founded in 1848 by three brothers from the small Norwegian town of Oslofjord.
MSC - Naples-based cruise line that is part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company.
Ocean Village - this newcomer focuses on informal and relaxed cruising in the Carribean and Mediterranean.
P&O Cruises - part of Carnival PLC. Ships include the Arcadia, Oriana and Oceana.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line – This US company owns a number of huge vessels, including the enormous Freedom of the Seas.
Saga - specialises in cruises for the over 50’s.
Thomson - Mediterranean cruises geared towards the British public.
